Directions

The basic idea is that you want to go to Sanga (about 35 km to the east of Mbarara), on the
Mbarara-Masaka road.  In Sanga, look for a dirt road with our green signpost. Stay on the
dirt road for about 11 km, following our signposts until you reach the lodge. Please note that
a four-wheel drive car is advisable as specialy during rainy days.

Also note that Google Maps is not aware of the existence of the road from Sanga to our lodge
and will probably suggest that you drive through Lake Mburo National Park instead.  Which is
possible, but expensive (you will need to pay park entrance fees) and slow.

Depending on road conditions, the road from either Kampala or Entebbe to Hyena Hill Lodge
will take roughly 4-5 hours. (Google Maps is a bit optimistic.) If you come from Mbarara,
count on approximately 1 hour.

Coming from Entebbe

1. Take the normal road from Entebbe to Kampala (not the expressway!)
2. Go left on a dirt road near Kisubi Church
3. Follow the road until Nakawuka
4. Go left in the direction of the Kasanje road
5. On the Kasanje road, go right in the direction of Mpigi
6. When you reach the road from Kampala to Masaka/Mbarara, go left
7. Follow the road until Sanga (about 35km to the east of Mbarara).
8. In Sanga, take a dirt road to the left (look for our green signpost).
9. Stay on the dirt road for about 11km, following our green signposts.

Alternatively, you can just take the expressway to Kampala until you reach
the road to Mbarara. But traffic in Kampala is often jammed, so this may take
much longer.
